Practical Approaches to Cyberbullying
Venue: YHGfL Seminar Room Cyberbullying is a very real concern for children and young people today. Relying on the Internet and mobile phones for organising all aspects of their lives, young people are particularly vulnerable to bullying via this technology. Research consistently estimates that around a quarter of young people are victims of cyberbullying, with some studies putting this figure significantly higher.
This workshop will provide teachers and other professionals with a range of practical, tried-and-tested approaches to working with children and young people, talking about the issues, raising awareness and also dealing with incidences of cyberbullying. It’s not just about finding out the issues, it’s about looking at the nitty-gritty of tackling the issue head-on with young people. Stop Motion Animation
Venue: Carr House Get started with Stop Motion – A beginners guide to Stop Motion animation A beginner’s guide to using stop-motion animation in the classroom. Stop-motion animation allows pupils to create 3D animated sequences that they storyboard, film and edit to enhance learning across all curriculum areas. This hands on workshop shows teachers how to create their own models, storyboard, film and edit animations together using a range of tools and technique.
