SMTP relay

The YHGfL SMTP email relay service provides protection against all known viruses and can block unwanted or offensive emails.

Email is an essential tool within the education environment: however, the content of some emails can be inappropriate or irritating for teachers and can expose students to inappropriate and/or unacceptable material and there is also a risk of leaking sensitive information, slowing of your network or even damage to your IT systems.

If a site does become compromised, the YHGfL SMTP email relay will prevent any spamming or viruses spreading outside the site, preventing major email providers denying mail from/to our customers.

For those reasons, YHGfL insists that all schools within our network use our YHGfL SMTP mail relay.

The YHGfL SMTP email relay service provides a flexible, reliable, efficient and safe service for teachers and students. It does this by scanning and filtering emails for the latest viruses, junk email (spam) and many other types of content.

Protecting a school network against virus attacks and spam is critical in any environment to keeping the network running smoothly.

The SMTP relay service stops 100% of known viruses on all inbound and outbound mail and 98% of unsolicited emails. It does this by having multiple layers of scanning and filtering via Sophos Enterprise Spam Appliances and MailScanner applications.

The SMTP relay service is a fully staffed service which includes maintenance and support from Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm by a highly experienced support team which includes skilled network and systems engineers.
