The Yorkshire and Humber Grid for Learning is a non profit making company with 12 Local Authority partners. It deals with around 2,000 schools:
The Foundation is part funded by the Government and part funded by the member authorities.
As with the nine other Regional Broadband Consortia, we were originally tasked by the Government with connecting all schools in our region to broadband by the end of 2006.
Having achieved that, bar a handful of schools, we have now turned our attention to helping schools and colleges make the most of that broadband connection, by delivering exciting and innovative lesson content over the National Education Network.
