Teaching & Learning Group

The Teaching and Learning Group

The Teaching and Learning Group meets half-termly (once every two months in school term time), moving around the partner local authorities. The group’s core task is to manage a programme that will provide digital learning objects, tools and technologies to learners, teachers and their mentors from the region’s schools. In doing this, we aim to support learning and teaching, school leadership and continuing professional development.

The group has members from all partner LEAs, but its meetings are open, by arrangement or invitation, to contributors from the region's schools and elsewhere. We are represented on the national Content Development Group of the Regional Broadband Consortia. We work with the DfES and its agencies (such as Becta and the TTA), as well as regional and local organizations that support education, the arts and culture.

The task of the Learning and Teaching Group is to be the experts who can anticipate and respond to the current and future needs of the many users in our region and to help meet those needs by providing appropriate goods and services at best value to those end users.
