BETT award-winning arts education website ArtisanCam is launching a national ’Design your own duvet cover competition’ for schoolchildren on Monday October 15th 2007.
Children will be able to design and decorate a virtual duvet cover using a special interactive sewing machine activity called Stitch it up.
Open to children of all ages across the UK, users can design their own patterns, cut and stitch shapes to make their own online textile creation.
Winners will be selected from each region and one overall winner will have their design manufactured as a duvet cover by a leading textile artist. The winning design and those of the runners-up will be displayed in a special gallery area on the website. The competition will be open until the end of November 2007.
ArtisanCam is a free website which introduces children and their teachers to the world of contemporary visual art through an innovative mix of classroom workshops, video footage of artists in their studios and online virtual arts activities.
