Stop Cyberbullying Now
Cyberbullying is a feature of many young people's lives, and also adults and those who work with young people. The effect of cyberbullying on victims can be invasive, relentless, and devastating.
YHGfL are working alongside the Anti-Bullying Alliance (ABA) to help raise awareness of cyberbullying in our region and help our schools develop stategies to tackle it.
A key part of our partnership was the hosting of a YHGfL/ABA regional conference on cyberbullying in May 2009. The conference offered one of the first opportunities anywhere for delegates to consider the implications of the new DCSF guidance on keeping school staff safe from cyberbullying, and there is growing evidence on this being a real issue for adults working with young people.
In this video from the joint ABA/YHGfL cyberbullying conference, John Stead, Regional Advisor for the ABA tells us why cyberbullying is such an important issue for schools to consider.
