Looking for a lively lesson idea to brighten up the Autumn term? How about a workshop with award-winning poet and author, Wes Magee?

Wes Magee will be bringing his poems to life, via videoconference, for 15 of our member schools during National Poetry Week. Wes, a former teacher who has become one of the UK’s most popular children’s poets, is renowned for writing rhythmic poems, with lots of different sounds and great potential for performance. His workshops are always fun and very interactive, and keep children and teachers enthralled.

Wes will be running either Action Rhymes or Poetry Shows via videoconference for YHGfL, and the sessions can be tailored towards your students. Can you spare 10 minutes?

A joint initiative from the National Education Network and Lancaster University is calling for all young people and professionals in schools to take part in a survey based around their attitudes and behaviour on the internet and using mobile technology. It would make a fantastic starter task as an introduction to raising eSafeguarding awareness for both pupils and staff.

The questionnaire is conducted on-line and should take no more than 10 minutes. The two main audiences are: educational professionals (teachers, senior management, teaching assistants, non-teaching staff, and governors) and young people. The questions are differentiated for the different age groups (5-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-14, and 14-19).
