What is Tuned-In

Tuned-in is an imaginative online resource for music from Foundation to KS2. Ideally suited to interactive whiteboards, Tuned-in hosts a wealth of ideas and activities for class music making.

Activities are underpinned by extensive teacher notes and reflect the NC orders for music and the QCA schemes of work. Tuned-in supports Excellence and Enjoyment and the Primary Strategy by encouraging effective use of ICT in music making, and by making effective and imaginative links across the curriculum.

Tuned-in is not a traditional scheme of work for music. The Music Manifesto suggests that a broad and balanced music education draws on a wide range of resources and provision, including quality workshops led by professional and community musicians.

Activities and resources can be adapted easily to match different learning styles, and can also be used effectively with other quality music resources. Critically, musicians from different musical genres and traditions are involved in creating interactive units of work, which may be supported by workshops in schools.
